This auction is for an original platinum print photograph by Berenice Abbott, printed later from the original negative and signed and inscribed in pencil To Tom,7/17/1989, Berenice Abbott . I bought it from a gentleman who was a photographer in New York for many years and who did his printing at the same studio where Ms. Abbott was having her photographs printed. They became friends, and she gave this to him after personally inscribing it. I also compared the signature to other examples of Ms. Abbotts signature, just to be safe, and it matches one of the two examples of her signature given on findartinfo.com....It measures about 3.5 by 4.5 inches, is in excellent condition, and is printed on an 8 by 10 sheet. This is being offered for the first time on ebay. Please contact me after the auction for an exact shipping quote, as the ebay calculator is somewhat erratic. NOTE---California residents must pay sales tax unless exempt...no exceptions....
